The top panel of this shawl is worked back and forth from the center out, beginning with a provisional cast-on. Stitches are then picked up along one long edge of the top panel and worked back and forth in rows, working increases to maintain the rectangular shape. A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.
